Fields of Sunflowers IV 27" x 35" pastel ©2002 This is my largest French painting yet. I want to get the feel of being able to walk into this stunning field of sunflowers, as I remember it. There is a hint of a farm, and a small town in the distance, but I'm keeping it loose. The flowers are the focus, the background is in peripheral vision or memory. And such wonderful memories of visiting my fun-loving cousins near Toulouse - motoring through the fields to sight see. I would frequently yell Arrete! for Petit Georges to stop so that I could take a picture. And here is the result- such fun! |
