"Tango Gelato SF"

Around the corner from the Boulangerie on Pine St., I spied this inviting gelato shop on Fillmore. Once again, a luscious color leads us into a tasty treat – authentic gelato, made on the premises. Joaquin Pochat, the gracious proprietor, hails from Argentina and appears to be dancing with his broom, his morning ritual. The large Italian population in Buenos Aries loves its gelato. I’m told these shops sprouted on every corner. I’m happy to be showing my recent work here again in the summer of 2005, and hope you’ll find them tasty too. This piece is published in April 05 Pastel Journals annual competition, and will be showing in the prestigious Pastel Society of the West Coast's annual Pastels USA show.
