I missed the lavender fields in France, but was directed to Matanzas Creek Winery in Glen Ellen, Sonoma by several artists. What a treat - fields of my favorite color! They have 4000 plants, the largest planting in Northern California. I did one long and narrow piece, then decided I wanted more – thus my first diptych. I made Giclée Prints and they fused the two together. I now have a square version, and crop it for a horizontal view – fun!
